Regional Convenings

Serving over 2,000 students

Part of being selected as a New England Basecamp cohort school is to join a regional and national community of support. Implementing something new is challenging and requires ongoing vision, support and planning.

 Overview

To join like-minded personalized learning school and teacher leaders in developing a shared vision of personalized learning in education, each cohort school sends their school-based team to participate in three regional convenings.

At each convening, you are provided the opportunity to network and share developing best practices and strategies with other cohort schools. The purpose of the regional convenings is to bring personalized learning educators together to:

  • Recognize, celebrate, and share successes.
  • Access support from and collaborate with a community of peers.
  • Use relevant data to continuously improve.
  • Develop a strategic plan to address site-based student needs.

 Plan Development

During regional convenings, you can expect to be engaged with small groups to have deep discussions about where you are now, where you want to be, and how to get there.

We use a strategic planning process called “status”, “target”, “proposal”, or STP, where you will gather data about where your team is now, establish a vision for where you want to be, and develop a plan for bridging that gap.

To develop that plan, you will have an opportunity to share strategies with others in your role, as well as attend opt-in sessions about project time, personalized learning time (PLT), and access self-directed modules.

When you leave, you and your school-based team will have a more strategic vision and plan for needed next steps in your school’s implementation of the Summit model of personalized learning.
